When going on a summer drive with friends, it’s crucial to blast music that captures the feeling of being young and having fun. Blake and Miles, two brothers from Los Angeles, create that feeling.

Although their top quality socials and crisp production resemble pop stars with sizable support teams, Blake and Miles have broken through barriers independently, riding their confidence, Tik Tok strategy, and stylish vision onto a wave of new fans and excitement. Building a clean, youthful, and engaging image to parallel their tracks, Blake and Miles found success through their raw Tik Tok efforts, accumulating over 150 million views and millions of followers. The brothers have overcome classic tropes of the music industry while proving to be the ideal duo to create young soundtracks. For anyone who wants a quick escape from the stress, check out Blake and Miles and their latest release, “No Cap”, an energetic summer jam created during quarantine.

Hey Blake and Miles, hope you’re doing well during these unprecedented times. Thanks for taking the time to let us get to know you a little better!

Where are you guys at now?

We are currently living in LA. We’ve been here our whole lives.

What does a recording process look like for you guys?

The recording process is always different. Most of the time it starts with a beat that I (Blake) made, and we just find melodies. We write together, we write alone. Sometimes one of us will literally track half of a song out on our own and bring it to the other. It really just depends. Inspiration manifests itself in different ways. You sort of have to try different things to get that spark that eventually takes you all the way to the finish line. You cast your line and try different bait until you catch the fish. Sometimes it’s immediate, sometimes it takes a while.

Many times siblings have tense relationships but it seems like you guys just have good energy together… how does the dynamic of being brothers affect your songwriting?

I think we have a gear that we can tap into that is only possible when collaborating with someone you’re related to. We share halves of the same brain, and can finish each other’s “melodic sentences”. A lot of times one of us will go somewhere melodically, and the other will know exactly where it’s headed because we think so cohesively. But at the same time we are different people, so when one of us is stuck, the other isn’t. It’s honestly a super power and a huge advantage.

You just released “No Cap” and it’s been popping off – can you tell us the story behind the track?

No cap came in the middle of quarantine. We were actually compiling a project and trying to be mindful about what it was potentially missing. We needed something with a dancy, summer-feel.  We were working one day and Blake produced the beat and in 2 days the song was done.

In just a few words, how would you describe your music?

The soundtrack to being young

Who or what are your biggest musical influences?

The 1975. Drake. Trav.

Who would be your dream to collaborate with?

The 1975

Any near future plans? Songs dropping or other things to look out for?

We always have things on the horizon. We’re constantly creating and planning for our next rollout. Hopefully a project soon. We have a lot of records in the vault. Keep your eyes and ears out…

What are you listening to right now?

Lot of Dominic Fike. He’s one of the only new acts that seems to be truly about the art. Excited for that album. Other than that, whatever drake puts out. And all 1975 albums on loop. These days inspiration is a treat to be quite honest.
